What’s included in each Blind Date Book Box and Subscription?

Each subscription box includes:

  • One book in like-new condition (A book in like new condition shows little to no signs of use. The cover and pages are mostly clean, intact, and free from writing, stains, or major wear. It may have been gently handled or previously owned, but it looks and feels almost brand new.)
  • One laminated bookmark
  • Four large, high-quality stickers
  • high-quality tea bag, a handmade wax seal, and twine
  • Everything wrapped together in specialty wrapping paper
  • Access to a subscriber-only community group chat through "Bookclubs"
  • Annual subscriber Reading Card with subscriber only rewards for completing the card
  • Quarterly seasonal reading list

What book will I get?

This is a blind date—so the title is a surprise!
Here’s what you will know:

  • The genre and theme will be announced about a month prior to each shipment
  • Every subscriber receives the same book each season, making this perfect for book clubs or buddy reads
  • Books will follow the seasonal vibe depending on your subscription (Valentine’s Day, Summer, Fall/Halloween, and Winter/Christmas)
  • Upcoming themes will always be shared on my website and social media

How often will I receive a box?

These are seasonal subscriptions, so you’ll receive 4 boxes per year—one each season.


When will my subscription ship?

Boxes ship four times a year during the following windows:

  • February 1–10
  • May 1-10
  • August 1-10
  • November 1-10

When will I be charged?

  • Your subscription is billed on a recurring basis based on your sign-up date. You’ll be charged every three months on the same day you originally subscribed, which is typically about one month before each box ships.
  • Subscriptions open in limited enrollment windows and close once that window ends (or spots fill). These cutoff dates apply only to new subscribers, assuming spots are available.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage everything directly through the Manage Your Subscription section, including:

  • Updating your shipping address
  • Updating your payment method

All changes must be completed before the cutoff for the upcoming box to take effect.


What if my address changes?

  • Address changes can be made anytime through the Manage Your Subscription portal
  • Please be sure your address is updated before the shipping window to ensure proper delivery

What if I already own the book?

  • You’re allowed one exchange per subscription year.
  • To qualify for an exchange, the box must be returned in full, with all items included and in undamaged condition (other than the wrapping paper). Once received, I’ll send out your replacement book.
  • Books must be returned back within 5 days of delivery.

Can I cancel my subscription?

  • To cancel your subscription, please email Belladonnabookcoven@gmail.com.
  • Cancellations must be requested at least one month before the next box ships.
  • Subscription boxes ship during the following windows:
    • February 1–5 → Cancellation deadline: December 31st
    • May 1–5 → Cancellation deadline: March 31st
    • August 1–5 → Cancellation deadline: June 30th
    • November 1–5 → Cancellation deadline: September 30th

Any cancellation requests received after these dates will apply to the following shipment.

Can I pay in full?

  • Yes! You may choose to pay for the full year upfront (4 books total). Paying in full automatically gives you $20 off.

Is there a community aspect?

Yes!

  • Each subscription includes access to a community group chat where you can connect with other subscribers and discuss the current book.
    • There will be separate groups for Seasonal and Horror subscriptions. Since every subscriber receives the same book each season, this also makes the blind date box a fun and easy option for book clubs or buddy reads, four times a year.
    • After subscribing, you’ll be emailed a direct link to join your group on the “BookClubs” app, which you can use on mobile or in a web browser.

    What is the Subscriber Reading Card?

    • Each subscription includes a themed Annual Reading Card designed to track your books throughout the year.
    • Because our subscriptions ship 4 times a year, your reading card includes 4 spaces—one for each box you receive.

    How does it work?

    • When you subscribe, you’ll receive a reading card that matches your subscription type (Seasonal or Horror).
    • Each time you receive a box and finish the book, you’ll mark one space on your card.
    • Every box includes a themed item to help you mark off the space on your card.
    • Once all 4 spaces are filled, your card is complete for the year.

    Is there a reward for completing the card?

    • Yes! Subscribers who complete all four books on their reading card will unlock a special subscriber-only reward.
    • Rewards may include exclusive items, discounts, or other surprises available only to subscribers.
    • Details on how to redeem your reward will be shared once your card is complete.

    Do I have to complete the card?

    • Not at all! The reading card is completely optional and meant to be a fun way to track your reading.

    What happens when I renew my subscription?

    • Each subscription year includes a new reading card, so renewing subscribers can start fresh with a new design and new rewards.

    Is there a waitlist?

    Yes!

    • If a subscription tier sells out, you can join the waitlist for future openings. Spots may open if limits are expanded or if a subscriber cancels.
    • When a spot becomes available, it will be announced on social media, and waitlist members will also receive an email notification.
    • Open spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability will always be reflected on the website.

    Why do you use like new books and not brand new books?

    • Less waste: Using like new books helps reduce waste by keeping perfectly good books in circulation.
    • Same reading experience: The books are in great condition and read the same as a brand-new copy.
    • Better selection: It allows me to choose the best book for the theme, not just what’s newly printed.
    • Keeps pricing reasonable: Let’s face it, books are expensive no matter brand new or used. This helps keep costs fair while maintaining the quality of each box.

    What if a subscription isn’t in my budget right now?

    • That’s completely okay! if a subscription isn’t the right fit for you at the moment, you can still enjoy the seasonal bookish vibes with us with:
